There is something definitely Asian in the refinement and subdued charm of this secluded place. Part-owner and manager, Virginie, was for 25 years a guide for European tourists in Asia. Familiar with plush resorts as well as out-of-the-way lodges, she decided to come back home and took over from her brother, the Belvedere with a plan in mind: recreate on a small, Malagazy scale the best of what she had experienced as an end-user.

She is a researcher as well and wrote a thesis on individual travel in China back in 1985. Her brother, the famous "Loulou" runs the restaurant down at the beach, just a flight of stairs away.
